Seven emirates, one tutoring plan

IGCSE tutoring that moves with your family across the emirates

A job change can take a family from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, or from Sharjah up to Ras Al Khaimah. Lessons happen online, so your child keeps one tutor in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain or Fujairah too.

British curriculum schools across the country mostly follow Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel for IGCSE, and a few offer Oxford AQA. We book lessons around the Saturday and Sunday weekend and on weekday evenings.

Choosing a board

Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE: which suits your child?

According to Cambridge International, over 100 UAE schools made around 54,000 entries for Cambridge qualifications in 2017. Pearson Edexcel is widely taught as well, so parents often ask how the two IGCSE boards differ.

How do the grading scales differ?

On Cambridge papers, most subjects are graded A* to G. Oxford AQA and the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE count down from 9 to 1, and 9 is the best. We explain what each grade on a school report really means.

Same subject, different papers

Cambridge Maths is 0580, while Edexcel Maths A is 4MA1. The topics overlap, but question styles differ. We read the code from your child's timetable before matching, so practice uses the right papers.

Does your school pick the board?

Usually, yes. Schools choose a board for each subject, and some mix boards across subjects. Our tutors cover all three, so one child could have a Cambridge Physics tutor and an Edexcel Maths tutor.

Moving emirate?

Keeping IGCSE study steady through a move

Moving house mid-course can unsettle a Year 10 or 11 student. These three checks keep IGCSE progress on track when your family changes emirate or school.

Check the new board

A new school may use a different board for some subjects. Compare the syllabus codes early, so your tutor can fill topic gaps before the next mock.

Keep the same tutor

Online lessons do not depend on your address. The tutor who already knows your child's weak spots stays on, so no weeks are lost starting over.

Share the old reports

Send us past school reports and recent test scores. The tutor uses them, plus our monthly progress notes, to plan the first term after the move.

Five steps to a steady IGCSE tutor in the UAE

The process is the same in every emirate, and it does not restart if you move. This is how a typical first month runs.

Someone fluent in your board

Inside 24 hours you hear about a tutor already teaching that exact Cambridge, Edexcel or Oxford AQA course. Lessons are set in UAE time to suit your week.

First session

Try one paid trial lesson

A first, paid trial (AED 20 to 60) lets your child cover a short topic with the tutor. Not convinced? We re-match at no charge.

Each week

Lessons that travel with you

Regular one-to-one lessons draw on past papers and the official mark schemes. If your family moves to another emirate, the tutor and timetable carry on unchanged.

Each month

Notes and a monthly report

Brief notes arrive weekly, and a fuller report lands monthly, telling you what has got better and what is next. Packages never lock you in.

The qualification explained

IGCSE basics for UAE parents comparing boards

IGCSE takes two school years, normally Years 10 and 11, for students aged 14 to 16. Each of the three boards writes its own papers, so one subject can look quite different from board to board.

Most papers are sat in the weeks between late April and the first days of June. Cambridge runs an extra series each October and November, with those results in January. Summer results from both main boards land in mid to late August.

Whichever board your school uses, our tutors teach to its syllabus code and mark schemes. That keeps practice close to the real exam.

Parent questions

UAE IGCSE questions on boards, moves and fees

Short answers on choosing between boards, keeping lessons going through a move, and what tutoring costs across the UAE.

Should my child switch from Edexcel to Cambridge?

Usually not mid-course. Your school sets the board, and changing late means new papers and new question styles. If a move forces a switch, your tutor maps the gaps between the two syllabuses.

What happens to lessons if we change emirate?

Nothing changes. Lessons run online, so your child keeps the same tutor, slot and notes. Just tell us if the new school uses a different board or syllabus code.

How much is IGCSE tuition across the UAE?

Lessons cost from AED 50 per hour, set by tutor and subject. Your first trial comes to AED 20 to 60. Apple Pay and cards are accepted, per lesson or as a package.

Can one tutor cover two exam boards?

Often, yes. Cambridge IGCSE is covered by all 63 tutors on our list, and 30 of them handle Pearson Edexcel as well. We check both syllabus codes before we suggest anyone.

Are lessons recorded for later revision?

Every lesson is recorded. Your child can replay a hard topic before a test, and also receives notes, flashcards and homework after each session.

Which year should we start IGCSE support?

Year 10 gives the most time to close gaps before mocks. Many families begin in Year 11 instead, aiming at the May and June papers. Either way, matching takes about a day.
