How our lessons lift a Geography grade
Each lesson is live and one to one. The tutor teaches to your child's paper route and fixes the skills that lose the most marks.
What is IGCSE Geography, and what changes in 2027?
IGCSE Geography is mostly taken by students aged 14 to 16. Cambridge runs it as syllabus 0460 with grades A* to G, while Pearson Edexcel runs it as 4GE1 with grades 9 to 1. Both study rivers, coasts, hazards, cities and climate.
According to Cambridge International, 6.2% of IGCSE Geography entries in June 2025 earned the top A*, while 71.9% secured a C or better. That A* rate sits well below the sciences, so the top grade rewards precise answers backed by examples.
From 2027, Cambridge tests maps, graphs and data skills on every paper, not in a separate skills paper. Marks slip when students misread a scale, give vague examples or forget a method step. A tutor spots these slips early and fixes them.
Topics across Physical and Human Geography in the 0460 syllabus, from rivers to resources.
Of Cambridge IGCSE Geography candidates achieved an A* in June 2025.
Marks available in total over both Edexcel 4GE1 papers, each with a fieldwork section.

Textbook, group course or a personal tutor?
Many students lean on a textbook or sign up for an online group course. This table weighs both against our one-to-one lessons for feedback, skills practice, fieldwork preparation and attention to weak topics.

What students say about learning with us
Classes are very helpful and the teachers are great, Just by taking a few classes ive already seen improvement in my grades and work in school.
…they helped me with any problem and allowed me to switch teachers easily too. … this tuition has allowed me to study ahead of my class too taking majority of the pressure of exams off.
I felt like this experience was very helpful and welcome and regarding the experience with the tutor they are very understandable and gives me examples on the topic to make it seem more easier
Teachers chosen through a strict selection process
Out of every 100 tutor applications, we accept fewer than 2. Every Geography tutor first passes an interview on the subject, then teaches a mock lesson, and both listed tutors have at least 15 years of experience.

Ten topics, from river basins to energy supply

How your tutor prepares each Geography paper
Cambridge students sit Papers 1 and 2, plus coursework or Paper 4, with no tiers. Edexcel students sit two papers. Each one needs its own preparation.
Physical Geography
Rivers, coasts, ecosystems, hazards and climate change. Your tutor practises the compulsory question and helps your child choose two of the three optional questions wisely.
Human Geography
Population, cities, development, economies and resources. Your tutor builds extended answers that use a named example and end with a clear judgement.
Geographical Investigations
Two 30-mark questions on hypotheses, data collection and analysis. Some schools enter coursework instead, and your tutor coaches either route step by step.
Paper 1, physical
Two of rivers, coasts or hazards, plus one fieldwork question. Your tutor trains timing, because this paper runs for only 70 minutes.
Paper 2, human and global
Economic, rural and urban topics, a fieldwork question and one global issue. Your tutor plans which optional questions your child will answer.
Examples and data in every answer
Your tutor shows how to quote a figure from the source and a fact from a named example, the two things that lift longer answers.

What changes in Cambridge Geography from 2027?
Paper 1 now covers physical geography and Paper 2 human geography. There is no separate skills paper, as skills are tested in every component. Climate change is a new topic, and case studies become detailed specific examples.
Which detailed examples should my child learn?
Cambridge lets schools choose their own examples, ideally from the year 2000 onwards. Your tutor works with the ones your child's school teaches and turns each into a short sheet of facts, figures and places.
Coursework or Paper 4: what is the difference?
Both are worth 28% and 60 marks. Coursework is a fieldwork report of 1,800 to 2,200 words set by the school. Paper 4 is a 90-minute exam on fieldwork methods. The school decides which route your child takes.
Can a tutor improve map and graph skills?
Yes, because these skills grow with practice and feedback. Your tutor sets short tasks on grid references, contours, cross-sections and graphs, then marks them, so small errors stop costing marks in the exam.
