Checked against Cambridge 0508 (2027 to 2029), Cambridge 0544 and the Pearson Edexcel 4AA1 specification.
Built for fluent speakers and new learners alike
Some students speak Arabic every day yet struggle with Fusha on paper. Others are still learning verb patterns and core vocabulary. Whichever describes your child, lessons are private, live and shaped by their Arabic gaps.
Which IGCSE Arabic course is your child taking?
Cambridge offers two IGCSE Arabic routes. First Language Arabic 0508 is for students whose first language is Arabic, including many Gulf families. Arabic 0544 is for foreign-language learners. Pearson Edexcel offers International GCSE Arabic (First Language) under the code 4AA1.
According to Cambridge's results data, just 17.2% of First Language Arabic candidates reached A* in June 2025, and 67.9% reached C or above. On the 0544 course, 50.7% got an A*. Being fluent at home does not guarantee a top grade.
Native speakers often drop marks on grammar questions, Fusha spelling and directed writing, where answers must use only ideas from the texts. New learners struggle with listening speed and accurate writing. One-to-one lessons target whichever gap your child has, week by week.
Of First Language Arabic entries achieved a C grade or higher in June 2025.
Of candidates on the Cambridge Arabic 0544 course got an A* in June 2025.

Inside 24 hours, an Arabic tutor who knows that course and suits your time zone is assigned.
Book the trial lesson
A single paid trial, AED 20 to 60, shows whether tutor and student click before you book more.
Build Fusha skills each week
Each week covers the Arabic grammar, reading or writing your child needs most. Should the tutor not suit them, a free re-match follows.
Three Arabic courses, prepared paper by paper
First Language students sit two written papers with Cambridge 0508 or Edexcel 4AA1. Cambridge 0544 learners sit four papers, including a speaking test. Each one needs a different kind of practice.
Reading and directed writing
From 2027 there are three texts, a grammar section and a 250 to 300 word directed writing task. Your tutor drills comprehension, then plans answers from both texts.
Composition writing
Two essays of 350 to 450 words: one discursive or argumentative, one descriptive or narrative. Your tutor sets titles, marks drafts and sharpens structure and vocabulary.
0544 oral exam
Your child prepares a role play card for ten minutes, then answers questions on it and chats about two topics. Your tutor stages full mocks, plus timed listening, reading and writing.
Paper 1: reading, summary, grammar
Two texts, a summary of a third text and four grammar questions. Your tutor trains close reading, comparing texts and accurate parsing under timed conditions.
Paper 2: two essays
Students pick two titles from three and write about 300 words for each. Your tutor practises quick planning and a clear, formal style.
Accurate formal Arabic
Dialect habits creep into written answers. Your tutor flags them in every piece of work, so spelling, grammar and register match what examiners expect.
Every Arabic lesson recorded and ready to replay

Questions Gulf parents ask about IGCSE Arabic
Straight answers on choosing a course, Fusha writing, speaking tests and fees.
My child speaks Arabic at home. Which course fits?
Most native speakers suit First Language Arabic 0508 or Edexcel 4AA1. Arabic 0544 is written for foreign-language learners. Cambridge does not allow 0508 and 0544 in the same exam series, so check with the school early.
Why do fluent speakers still lose marks?
Exams reward formal Fusha, not spoken dialect. Common slips are grammar errors, spelling, informal register and, in directed writing, adding outside ideas when answers must come from the texts. Your tutor corrects these habits piece by piece.
What is changing in 0508 from 2027?
Paper 1 becomes Reading and Directed Writing, with three texts, a grammar section and a directed writing task in place of the summary. In Paper 2, students choose two titles from four. Each paper is two hours and 50 marks.
Does the 0544 course include speaking?
Yes. Paper 3 lasts about ten minutes: a role play, then conversations on two topics, worth 25% of the grade. From 2028, every 0544 paper is worth 40 marks and the reading paper becomes multiple choice.
Can you help with Edexcel 4AA1?
Yes. Once you enquire, we find a tutor familiar with the 4AA1 course. It has two written papers, is graded 9 to 1, and can be sat in January or June, giving families two exam windows a year.
How much does an Arabic tutor cost?
Hourly rates start at AED 50, depending on the tutor chosen. The first Arabic trial costs AED 20 to 60. Buy lessons singly or in a package, by card or Apple Pay, and cancel any time.
