Edexcel and Cambridge tutors for Bahrain

IGCSE Tutors in Bahrain, Across All Four Governorates

Bahrain's schools split between Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge, so we match a tutor to your child's board first. Lessons are live, one-to-one and online, in Bahrain time.

Two boards, one kingdom

Which IGCSE board does your Bahrain school follow?

According to the Bahraini Ministry of Education, 76 private schools were operating in 2023, spread over the four governorates. Some teach Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and others Cambridge, so the first job is knowing which papers your child sits.

How to spot your child's board

Look at a past paper or the school's exam letter. Edexcel codes look like 4MA1 for Maths A. Cambridge codes are four digits, like 0580 for Maths. Send us either and we match from there.

Edexcel specialists, not general tutors

Of our 63 listed tutors, 30 teach Pearson Edexcel as well as Cambridge. Edexcel papers grade 9 to 1, so your tutor knows what lifts an answer from a 6 to a 7.

Is the kingdom too small to need online lessons?

Distances are short, but evening traffic still eats time. Online lessons save the drive between Riffa, Juffair or Saar, and your child keeps a recording of each session for revision.

From Amwaj to Riffa

IGCSE lessons reach every Bahrain governorate from one laptop

Students in Saar, Janabiya and Budaiya log in the same way as those in Juffair, Adliya, Riffa or Amwaj Islands. The tutor comes to the screen, so the school run stays the only drive.

British curriculum schools in Bahrain run Pearson Edexcel or Cambridge IGCSE side by side. With Friday and Saturday off, a weekend lesson leaves room for a longer practice paper.

Know the qualification

Same IGCSE name, two different exam boards in Bahrain

Students aged 14 to 16 take the IGCSE over two years, in Years 10 and 11. In Bahrain, a child at one school may sit Pearson Edexcel, while a friend down the road sits Cambridge.

The two boards grade differently. Edexcel International GCSE uses 9 to 1, with 9 the best, while Cambridge certificates mostly show A* to G. Both boards hold their main sitting from late April, finishing in early June, and results land in August.

Each tutor works to the precise specification, whether that is Edexcel Physics 4PH1 or Cambridge Physics 0625, with that board's own past papers and mark schemes.

If your board changes

Switching between Edexcel and Cambridge IGCSE in Bahrain

Moving schools inside Bahrain can mean moving boards too. Much of the content overlaps, but question styles, grading and paper structure differ. Here is what to watch.

Check the codes

Compare the old and new specification, such as Edexcel Chemistry 4CH1 against Cambridge Chemistry 0620. The tutor lists topics your child has not met yet and plans them first.

Learn the new grading

A student used to grades 9 to 1 must adjust to A* to G, or the other way round. The tutor shows what each grade asks for on the new papers.

Practise the new style

Each board phrases questions in its own way. Timed past papers from the new board, marked against its mark scheme, help your child settle before mocks.

Getting started in Bahrain

Five steps from board check to monthly IGCSE report

We start with the exam board, because in Bahrain it varies from school to school. Everything after that builds on it.

Arrange a trial lesson
First · Board check

Share the board, subject and year

Tell us through WhatsApp or the booking form: subject, Year 10 or 11, and which board appears on school papers, Edexcel or Cambridge. Unsure? A photo of a past paper cover tells us.

Next day · Matching

A tutor who knows that specification

Inside 24 hours we name someone who knows that board inside out. Together you agree times in Bahrain time, either school nights or Fridays and Saturdays.

Trial · One session

Try one lesson before you commit

Budget AED 20 to 60 for the trial, roughly BHD 2 to 6.1. You see how the tutor explains and marks. If it is not working, a new tutor is free.

Ongoing · Weekly

Regular sessions on the shared whiteboard

Lessons mix teaching with board-specific past paper questions and homework. Each session is recorded, and your child gets notes and flashcards to revise from.

Each month · Review

Reports that show what has improved

Parents read brief notes every week and a fuller review every month, plus a quick alert should a class or homework be missed. No package locks you in.

Subjects by board

Pick a subject to meet its IGCSE tutors

Choose a subject to see its specialists. Tell us the board too, such as Edexcel Economics 4EC1 or Cambridge Business Studies 0450.

Bahrain FAQs

IGCSE questions Bahrain parents put to us

Short answers on boards, governorates, prices in dinars and what to do if your child changes school.

Does it matter if my school uses Edexcel?

Yes, because the papers and grading differ. Thirty tutors on our books cover Pearson Edexcel alongside Cambridge, so your child gets someone who knows the 9 to 1 papers well.

Can you tutor students in every governorate?

Yes. Everything happens online, so a student in Riffa can pick from the same tutors as a family in Juffair or Budaiya. All your child needs is a quiet spot at home.

What is the price in Bahraini dinars?

An hour starts at AED 50, close to BHD 5.1, and varies with the tutor and subject. Trials are AED 20 to 60. We take debit cards, credit cards and Apple Pay, for single sessions or bundles.

Can a tutor help if we switch boards?

Yes. The tutor compares the two specifications, teaches any topics your child has missed and practises the new question style with real past papers until it feels familiar.

Are lessons live or pre-recorded?

Every lesson is live and one-to-one over video, using a shared whiteboard. We also record it, which means a tricky explanation can be replayed before a test.

Are lesson times set to Bahrain time?

Lessons are booked in Bahrain time, UTC+3. Pick weekday evenings or Friday and Saturday slots, and shift them whenever mocks or school trips clash.
