Cambridge IGCSE help that fits around the busy Doha week
Families in West Bay, The Pearl and Lusail often juggle long workdays and packed after-school clubs. So do parents in Al Waab, Al Sadd and Al Gharrafa. Online lessons remove the evening drive, so study time stays study time.
Cambridge IGCSE is the board at many British curriculum schools in Qatar, while some use Pearson Edexcel. The school week ends on Friday and Saturday, so a weekday evening plus a Saturday morning slot works well for many.
How does Cambridge IGCSE tutoring work for Doha students?
According to Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education, 241,332 students attended private schools in 2024/25. Many British curriculum schools in Doha follow Cambridge IGCSE, so our tutors start from your child's exact Cambridge syllabus.
Cambridge codes our Doha students bring
Each Cambridge subject has its own code, such as Maths 0580, Physics 0625 or Chemistry 0620. Before lesson one, your tutor confirms the code with you, so every practice question matches the real paper.
What if your Doha school uses Edexcel?
Some schools in Qatar teach Pearson Edexcel instead. Thirty of our 63 tutors also teach Edexcel, using codes like 4MA1 for Maths. Oxford AQA is covered as well, so switching schools need not mean switching tutors.
A live lesson that fits a Doha evening
Your child joins from home over live video and writes on a shared board with the tutor. The tutor sets past paper questions, marks them against the mark scheme and sets homework. Each lesson is recorded for later.
Which IGCSE support suits a busy Doha family?
Busy Qatar families often weigh a private online tutor against a tuition centre or extra revision classes at school. Here is how each option handles timing, travel, Cambridge syllabus fit and feedback for parents.

Cambridge IGCSE in Qatar, explained for parents
Over Years 10 and 11, students aged 14 to 16 work towards the IGCSE as a two-year course. In Qatar, Cambridge (CAIE) is the board many British curriculum schools use, with Pearson Edexcel and Oxford AQA also on offer.
Cambridge grades mostly run from A* to G, while Edexcel and Oxford AQA use 9 to 1, with 9 the top grade. Summer exams open in late April and wrap up by early June, and Cambridge adds an October/November series.
After IGCSE, Doha students go on to A-Level, the IB or a different post-16 path. Our tutors coach from past papers so your child sees where each mark comes from.

Five steps to a Cambridge IGCSE tutor in Doha
Busy parents in Qatar can set this up in a few messages. Here is how a request turns into weekly lessons that fit your family's week.
Start with a trial lessonShare the syllabus code and weak topics
Use the form or WhatsApp to tell us the year group, subject and Cambridge or Edexcel code. Mention the topics that cost marks in the last test.
A tutor is picked for your board
A matched tutor is proposed within 24 hours, chosen for your child's syllabus. Lesson times are agreed in Qatar time, fitted around school, clubs and weekend plans.
Try one paid trial lesson first
The trial costs AED 20 to 60, about QAR 20 to 60, and your child spends it working live with the tutor. If the fit is wrong, we re-match at no extra cost.
Steady weekly lessons on past papers
Lessons work through old exam questions and how they are marked, then set homework. Each one is saved as a recording, ready to rewatch before a test.
Notes every week, a report every month
The tutor writes up notes at the end of every week, and a full progress report reaches you monthly. You hear straight away about a skipped lesson or homework, and you can cancel any time.
Find a Cambridge IGCSE subject specialist
Each chip leads to tutors for that subject, from Physics 0625 to First Language English 0500.
An IGCSE study plan for the Qatar school year
A steady plan beats a last-minute rush. These three stages show how you can spread IGCSE tutoring across Year 10 and Year 11.
Start with the topics your child finds hardest. One weekly lesson in Qatar time builds a habit early, long before mock exams arrive.
Shift towards timed past papers and mark schemes. Your tutor spots patterns in lost marks and plans lessons around them.
Most papers are sat from the end of April into early June. Use Friday and Saturday sessions for full practice papers, then rest until results arrive between mid and late August.
