Why Edexcel IGCSE students in Kuwait learn online
According to Gulf News, Kuwait had 123 foreign private schools teaching about 165,000 students in 2022. Many follow Pearson Edexcel, and others use Cambridge. Our tutors teach both boards, live and one-to-one.
Edexcel International GCSE, code by code
Edexcel papers have their own codes, such as Maths A 4MA1, Further Pure Maths 4PM1 and English Language A 4EA1. Your tutor checks the code first, so every lesson matches the paper.
Grades 9 to 1, explained for parents
Edexcel grades run from 9 down to 1, with 9 the highest. Cambridge mostly uses A* to G. Your tutor explains what each grade needs and tracks how close your child is.
Does a Cambridge school change anything?
Not much. All 63 of our listed tutors teach Cambridge IGCSE, and 30 also teach Edexcel. If your child moves school or board, we can keep the same tutor or re-match for free.
IGCSE lessons from Salmiya to Mangaf, without the traffic
Evening traffic on the Fifth Ring Road can eat into time that should go on revision. Students in Salmiya, Mishref and Jabriya, or Salwa, Bayan and Mangaf, simply log on at home instead.
In Kuwait, Pearson Edexcel is common at British curriculum schools, and some teach Cambridge. With a Friday and Saturday weekend, a simple pattern is one school-night lesson plus one weekend slot in Kuwait time.
The IGCSE in Kuwait: Edexcel, Cambridge and grades
Most IGCSE courses last two years and finish at age 16, with exams in Year 11. In Kuwait, Pearson Edexcel's version, called the International GCSE, is common, and many schools teach Cambridge (CAIE) instead. Oxford AQA offers one too.
The main exams run from late April to early June, and Cambridge also has an October/November series. June results for both Cambridge and Edexcel arrive in mid to late August, and November results in January.
These grades matter for post-16 study such as A-Level or the IB. Our tutors teach from your child's own board, with real Edexcel or Cambridge past papers.

Three things to know about Edexcel IGCSE in Kuwait
If your child's school in Kuwait follows Pearson Edexcel, these points help you plan tutoring and understand reports from school and from our tutors.
Look on a report or exam timetable for codes like 4MA1 or 4CH1. Sharing it lets us pick a specialist in that specification.
Edexcel uses grades 9 to 1, with 9 the highest. Your tutor's monthly report shows which topics are holding the grade back.
Edexcel's summer exams sit in May and June, beginning in late April. Results come out in the second half of August, so plan regular lessons from Year 10 rather than a spring rush.

Edexcel, prices and timing: IGCSE answers for Kuwait
Straight answers on US dollar prices, Edexcel support, lesson times in Kuwait and what happens after the trial lesson.
Why are prices shown in US dollars?
The Kuwaiti dinar's exchange rate moves against other currencies, so US dollars give a steadier guide. Lessons start from about US$14 an hour, and the trial costs about US$5 to US$16.
Do your tutors know the Edexcel specification?
Yes. Thirty of our tutors know Pearson Edexcel International GCSE well, covering codes such as 4MA1, 4PM1 and 4EC1. We confirm your child's code before lesson one.
Can lessons avoid rush hour on the Ring Roads?
There is no travel at all. Lessons happen online and follow Kuwait time. Your child can start straight after school, later in the evening or on Friday and Saturday.
What does the trial lesson involve?
Your child meets the tutor live on video and works through a topic on a shared whiteboard. It costs AED 20 to 60, about US$5 to US$16, and is recorded.
How do I pay for lessons?
Pay by credit or debit card or Apple Pay. Buy single sessions or a package. Nothing locks you in, so cancel whenever plans change.
Will I know how my child is doing?
Yes. Your tutor writes brief weekly notes and a fuller monthly progress report. Missed classes or unfinished homework trigger an alert to you as well.
