One IGCSE tutor from Tanglin to East Coast, and beyond

Families in Bukit Timah, Holland Village or Tanglin learn with the same tutors as families in River Valley, Novena or East Coast. Lessons happen at the kitchen table, so there is no extra trip after school.

Singapore's international schools offer IGCSE from Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel. Local schools teach for the Singapore-Cambridge O-Level. Our tutors help newcomers catch up on IGCSE topics they have not met yet.

Expat IGCSE support

Who studies IGCSE in Singapore, and where tutoring helps

According to figures from Singapore's Ministry of Education, fewer than 1 in 200 Singaporean students were at international schools in 2021. So most IGCSE students here come from expatriate families, and some arrive mid-course from another country.

Arriving partway through Year 10?

A new school may already have covered topics your child never met. The tutor spots those gaps in early lessons using past paper questions, then fills them before the class moves on.

Switching between Cambridge and Edexcel

Boards treat the same subject in different ways. Cambridge Biology 0610 and Edexcel Biology 4BI1, for example, set different papers. Your child's tutor teaches the code their new school uses.

Keeping one tutor through a move

Lessons are online, so a posting to another country need not end the tutoring. Your child can keep the same tutor and shift lesson times to suit the new time zone.

Changing systems

Moving into IGCSE from another curriculum

Children join Singapore's international schools from many systems. Each move leaves different gaps, so the first weeks of tutoring focus on whatever your child has not yet studied.

From a national curriculum

Students from a national system often know the content but not the IGCSE question style. Tutors teach command words and show how marks are awarded.

From another board

Going from Edexcel to Cambridge, or the reverse, means new papers and a new grading scale: letters from A* to G at Cambridge, numbers from 9 to 1 at Edexcel.

Leaving Singapore later

If another move is coming, your child can keep the same online tutor, so the IGCSE course carries on without starting again with someone new.

IGCSE and O-Level

How the IGCSE sits beside Singapore's O-Level

IGCSE is for students aged 14 to 16, usually over two years. Oxford AQA, Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel each set their own version. In Singapore, you find it at international schools, next to the local Singapore-Cambridge O-Level.

Most exams fall in May and June, starting in late April. Cambridge holds another round in October and November. It helps if a family move lands close to the summer exams, or if a student needs more time.

Once IGCSE is done, students continue with sixth-form study, often an A-Level or IB course in a different country. Solid foundations now make that next step easier.

1 · Get in touch

Tell us where your child has come from

Send the short form or WhatsApp us with the old curriculum, the new school's board and subjects, and any topics that feel unfamiliar.

2 · Within a day

Pairing with a tutor who knows the board

Inside 24 hours, a specialist in that syllabus, such as Cambridge Computer Science 0478, is lined up for your child, at times set in Singapore time.

3 · Trial session

A trial to test the fit

Your child tries a live lesson for AED 20 to 60, which is roughly US$5 to US$16. Not quite right? We swap the tutor without charge.

4 · Each week

Closing gaps, then moving ahead

Early lessons fill topics missed before the move. Later ones follow the school's pace, with past paper practice, homework and a recording of every session.

5 · Each month

Clear updates for busy parents

You hear from the tutor every week, then get a fuller written review at the end of each month. Alerts flag any missed lesson or homework. Packages and single lessons both work, and you can cancel anytime.

Expat parents ask

Singapore IGCSE questions from newly arrived parents

Answers on switching systems, keeping a tutor through a move, costs and timing, for parents of IGCSE students in Singapore.

Is IGCSE the same as the O-Level?

No. The Singapore-Cambridge O-Level is the local exam. IGCSE is the course taught at Singapore's international schools. Our tutors teach IGCSE for Cambridge, Edexcel and Oxford AQA.

My child joined mid-course. Can they catch up?

Yes. The tutor uses early lessons to find topics your child missed and teaches those first. Past paper questions then show whether each gap is closed before exams arrive.

Can we keep the tutor if we relocate?

Yes. Lessons are online, so they continue after a move. You simply agree new times that suit the new time zone, and your child stays with the tutor who already knows them.

What does IGCSE tutoring cost in Singapore?

Hourly rates start at AED 50, close to US$14, and depend on the tutor and subject. Trials cost AED 20 to 60. Choose one-off lessons or a bundle, and nothing locks you in.

Which board does my child's new school use?

Ask the school for the syllabus code on its subject list, such as 0580 for Cambridge Maths or 4MA1 for Edexcel Maths A. Send it to us and we match the tutor to it.

When do lessons run in Singapore time?

Any slot that suits you, from after-school hours to late evenings and weekends, all on Singapore time (UTC+8). Times can shift around school trips, mocks and family travel.
